Biosorption of lead ions from aqueous solutions by beech sawdust and wheat straw

This paper presents the results of Pb2+ adsorption from synthetic Pb(NO3)2 solutions, using beech sawdust and wheat straw as adsorbents. Physicochemical characterization adsorbents included specific surface area, pHpzc, SEM-EDS FTIR analysis. Adsorption kinetics isotherms, well changes in pH solution during process, were monitored analyzed. The showed that is explained by pseudosecond order kinetic model for both on described Temkin isotherm, which confirmed high values regression coefficient R2. maximum capacity lead ions was 9.9 9.7 mg g-1, respectively. obtained have indicated are suitable dilute aqueous solutions.
